The principal Western Australian Act regulating betting and bookmaking (the Betting Control Act 1954, current consolidation [10-k0-01]). It authorises, regulates and controls the use of totalisators and betting with a wagering licensee, and betting and bookmaking on races, events and contingencies, including the licensing of bookmakers and bookmakers' employees and the conduct of betting. Administered through the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (Racing, Gaming and Liquor).
